About Investigation Atlas
A practical digital initiative focused on the information systems behind investigations.
The project
Investigation Atlas is an independent pro bono digital initiative dedicated to improving how information, systems, data and technology support investigations. It brings together practical guidance, interactive tools and access to authoritative resources to help users understand, design, assess and improve investigative information environments.
The project has a particular focus on international, human-rights, accountability and complex large-scale investigations, while many of its principles and tools can also support national and local investigative work.
How it is being developed
Investigation Atlas combines professional experience with authoritative research, current standards and contemporary technology. The project is being developed through a structured approach covering research and needs analysis, requirements definition, information architecture, privacy and protection, digital product development, quality management, testing, implementation and continuous improvement.
